Judy Carmichael Review

Festival Reviews!

What a way to start off this year's Petworth Festival, Judy Carmichael was amazing!. The venue of St Mary's Church and her music worked so well together. Hope to see Judy back at the festival at some point. - Review by Alex K - Petworth.

Every year Tudor Rose Antiques & Interiors sponsor one of the concerts of the Festival. Our choice this year was inspired as Judy Carmichael - Queen of Stride was a pure joy. Her keyboard skills were phenomenal but in addition this lithe, feminine creature sang a number of haunting and emotional numbers, some of them her own compositions and interspersed with wonderful anecdotes including tales of Count Basie - they clearly had a mutual admiration society! The entertaining story telling brought so much extra to the performance and she was very ably supported by top jazz guitarist Colin Oxley and bass player Dave Green. To have entertainers such as this in Petworth is quite a coup and for those of us who live in the town, for them to be two minute's walk way from one's front door is hugely special!
