Last year we were treated to a brilliantly entertaining encounter as Carol Woolton interviewed Antiques Roadshow stalwart Geoffrey Munn about his memoir Touch of Gold. This year the tables are turned with the avuncular Munn quizzing the jewellery historian, author, broadcaster and former jewellery director of British Vogue about If Jewels Could Talk.

Whatever time of the earth you’re born into – whatever culture or civilization, we all wear the same things. Jewellery is the great connector from the past to the future linking us all. Woolton has identified seven key pieces, including the bead, the hoop, the ring, the charm and the head ornament, and written histories of them.
