General Sir Richard Barrons – War & Peace

General Barrons was Commander of Joint Forces Command from April 2013 until his retirement three years later. Having served in Northern Ireland, the former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan he is uniquely placed to offer a first hand perspectives on War and Peace, an inescapable part of human existence since long before Tolstoy was writing.

He discusses his own recently published memoir that looks at the real-life horror of war, leadership, the element of ‘surprise’ in warfare, technology, relations with government and the Ministry of Defence and much more…
