“The whole evening was superb. Talented classical musicians performing in the amazing ambience of Petworth House? It was all too good to resist…”

The first Petworth Proms sold out rapidly. Three evenings of superbly varied and brilliantly performed music by the finest of young musicians studying at the Royal Academy of Music, all sampled as audiences moved between four stunning state rooms in Petworth House…

The Petworth Proms return this May with two slight variations – concerts additionally staged in the dramatic ‘Carved Room’ with its array of Turner paintings and majestic central image of Henry VIII, and pre-concert and interval drinks taken in the courtyard with access prior to the performance to the Pleasure Garden.

Join us for a harmonious promenade as we listen to a sequence of music performed variously by:

Flavio Rodrigues and Goncalo Pires (cello and accordion) – Square Dining Room

Maryna Rodrigues and Georgi Dimitrov (soprano and guitar) – North Gallery

Jiali Wang (piano) – Grand Staircase

Idalia String QuartetCarved Room

Details of the repertoire to be performed will be announced shortly.

What to expect of your evening? With doors open from 6.30pm, drinks will be served in the Courtyard of Petworth House, audiences also being free to enjoy access to the elegant Pleasure Gardens. At approximately 7.20pm you will be invited to join one of four groups which will be directed to the first of a series of simultaneous mini-concerts, each of which will last 20 minutes. Following the first performance you will promenade to the second venue for a second performance, followed by a 20 minute interval (drinks again available in the Courtyard) and the third and fourth mini-concerts. The event will finish at approximately 9.45pm.
