Tony Hawks – Persistent Wind

Anyone who contributes to Radio 4’s Just a Minute has at least to be considered as a national treasure, so whilst Tony Hawks may not be fully confirmed as owning that status, he is unquestionably one of our most loved comedians. 

With Persistent Wind he embraces a fictional world for the first time, his previous bestsellers having been very much based in reality, not least Round Ireland with a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis.

And as Stephen Fry puts it of Persistent Wind ‘Hurrah! Tony has finally matured enough to stop doing daft things to win bets and apply his comedic skills to fiction.’
