An opportunity to meet Fergal Keane OBE, the award-winning broadcaster and writer specialising in conflict. He began his career reporting on ‘the Troubles’ in Northern Ireland and for more than three decades he has been a witness to conflicts around the world, including the Rwandan genocide, the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, the war in Ukraine, and the Israel - Palestine conflict. He won the George Orwell Prize for Political Writing for his book on Rwanda, ‘Season of Blood.’ He has also won an Emmy, a BAFTA, awards from the Royal Television Society, the Index on Censorship Prize for Outstanding Commitment to Journalistic Integrity, the Edward R. Murrow Prize from the Overseas Press Club of America, and the Prix Bayeux Calvados-Normandie for war reporting. His book ‘Road of Bones’ about the siege of Kohima in 1944 won the British Army Military History Book of the Year Award.
