Such a Nice Boy

Bookclub Event

Date: Thursday 29 October
Venue: Petworth House
Time: 11.30am
Ticket: TBC - Price band C

This year’s Book Club session gives us the opportunity to discuss in depth some of the big issues of the day as portrayed by Rebecca Spargo in her new book Such a nice boy. Join a small group ‘in the round’ for an opportunity to examine the impact of social media on our teenagers, parenting in the age of tik tok, and toxic masculinity as portrayed in Such a nice boy.

In her debut novel Rebecca Spargo considers a terrible conundrum. A young mother discovers that her 15-year old son has been accused of being among a group of boys sexually bullying a young girl who subsequently takes her own life. Has her sweet, good boy really become a young man capable of something so brutal? As a woman, she wants to see him face consequences: as a mother, she wants to protect her son. Fans of Adolescence, The Herd and The Slap will be enthralled.

‘This is not just a chillingly believable page-turner. It’s an urgent parenting manual.’ Jennifer Cox, author of Women Are Angry

Numbers will be limited so please book early.
