Petworth Comes Alive with Music… in the Streets

Petworth came alive with music during this year’s Summer Festival, as the town hosted its very first street music day.

Blessed with beautiful weather, blue skies, colourful Festival bunting and plenty of enthusiastic shops and businesses, musicians took to the streets of Petworth, bringing music to town.

From bluegrass, acoustic guitars, soulful saxophone and the Petworth Town Band - all stunning performances that stopped shoppers in their tracks. There really was a wonderful variety of music throughout the morning. It was a brilliant way to celebrate the Festival beyond the traditional concert venues and bring music right into the heart of the community.

The atmosphere was relaxed, lively and unmistakably Petworth – with locals, visitors and shoppers stopping to listen, enjoy the sunshine, grab refreshments from local coffee shops and soak up the music.

A huge thank you to all the musicians, shops and businesses who helped make our first Street Music Day such a success. We can’t wait to do it all again… and make it even bigger next time!
