The summer past has again shown us that the climate crisis deepens with terrifying predictability. Climate campaigner and activist Jonathon Porritt has been advising governments, businesses and NGOs for over fifty years. The author of many highly respected books, he still believes it is ‘not too late’ to avoid climate breakdown, but the thrust of Love, Anger & Betrayal is that it soon will be.

Porritt spent a year alongside young Just Stop Oil activists, part of a generation he believes has been systematically let down by successive governments, and a cohort he describes as ‘courageous young campaigners who seek to wake us up to the truth through peaceful direct action.’

‘This is a deeply uncomfortable but overwhelmingly necessary book.’ Caroline Lucas, former leader of the Green Party and Green MP, 2010–24
