The Guardian’s senior international correspondent Luke Harding was Moscow Bureau Chief from 2007 until, returning from a trip outside the country in 2011, he was refused re-entry to Russia and deported the same day. He has since written extensively about the modern day Russian political system with previous books also covering the Julian Assange story – WikiLeaks – and The Snowden Files.
His latest book Betrayal charts the dramatic collapse of the post-1945 international system. The agreement that nations do not change borders by force is under attack, not just from Russia but America, too.
