The Festival celebrates the 60th birthday of composer Ned Bigham, known locally to many as Ned Mersey. Supported by the John Murray Charitable Trust, Ned’s new nonet -The South Downs Suite - will be performed by the London Conchord Ensemble, the elite group of chamber musicians who have graced festivals on many occasions.

Ned’s new work thematically reflects on the local West Sussex countryside and environment. The London Conchord Ensemble has recorded much of its extensive discography in the wonderful recording environment that is Champs Hill’s Music Room.
