The latest in the Festival’s astounding series of concerts from prize winning pianists of recent Leeds International Piano Competitions. We welcome the first prize winner of the 2024 competition, Canadian Jaeden Izik-Dzurko.
Following in the footsteps of previous competition winners Radu Lupu, Murray Perahia, Mitsuko Uchida, András Schiff, and recent Petworth favourite Alim Beisembayev, we can expect a further remarkable display of pianism, Jaeden’s Festival programme including Schumann’s masterly Fantasie in C Major, A suite of 'fantasy pieces' hovering between romantic rapture and despair.
‘As a Leeds winner, [Jaeden’s] virtuosic prowess was unlikely to be in any doubt - and this was indeed astonishing - but what impressed even more was his sensitivity and deep emotional expression.’ Bachtrack
