Sing Out! is a creative music and heritage project developed by Petworth Festival in partnership with the National Trust.

Working with local primary schools, children wrote text and music inspired by paintings at Petworth House to create their own original songs.

The project brought together a large group of pupils (Years 4–6), professional artists and sixth-form music technology students to create six new songs inspired by the stories, characters and atmosphere through creative writing, songwriting and music technology.

We are pleased to share the songs and supporting materials to encourage teachers and schools to explore the project in their own way - whether as a short creative unit, a cross-curricular project, or a starting point for pupils’ own songwriting and storytelling.
